UNESCO/Nigerian Office

With book support from UNESCO, Nigerian Office, we established a rural library at the Ohaji District Headquarters, Umuokanne, in partnership with the Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Council between 2003 and 2007.

The Multi-purpose Community Development Center housing the rural library project was commissioned by the then Executive Governor of Imo State, His Excellency, Chief (Dr.) Achike Udenwa (OON).

Imo State Government of Nigeria

With funding from the Government of Imo State of Nigeria, we trained four hundred (400) Secondary School Principals and Directors of the Imo State Secondary Education Management Board on Capacity Building for the Effective Management of the Secondary School System in Imo State, Nigeria in February, 2002.

Among others, the objectives of the project were: to x-ray the failures of past teaching styles and management approaches in the secondary schools in the state; to introduce the participants to newly developed techniques of managing students and public offices; to identify problem areas and develop new strategies and action plans that will improve teaching styles, public sector management, counseling, etc; to equip participants with practical problem-solving and conflict mitigation skills as ways of controlling and preventing crime and violence amongst students

Resource persons drawn from the universities and the civil society were engaged to deliver on the project objectives.

USAID/Office of Transition Initiatives

With support from USAID/OTI between 2000 and 2001, we partnered with the Committee for the Advancement of Justice (CAJ) in the implementation of their Niger Delta Peace Projects in Imo State.

Through the project, we established and coordinated the Movement to Save Ohaji/Egbema/Oguta Youths (MSOEOY), to maintain peace in order to ensure the socio-economic well being of youths in the oil producing communities of Ohaji/Egbema and Oguta Local Government Areas of Imo State, Nigeria.

West Africa Network for Peace building (WANEP)

WANEP is the largest regional peace building group in West Africa focusing on conflict resolution,
mediation and human rights

As an organization providing training and services in Peace building, Conflict resolution as well as advocating for Alternative Dispute Resolution strategies in conflict situations, AFRYDEF is a member of the West Africa Network for Peace building (WANEP).

In the early formative stages of WANEP, AFRYDEF served as the network’s secretariat in Imo State between 2002 and 2003.

Global Health Council (GHC)

It is the leading membership organization supporting and connecting advocates, implementers and stakeholders around global
health priorities worldwide

As a member of Global Health Council based in USA since 2003, we have always organized the local observance of the annual International AIDS Candlelight Memorial in Imo State, Nigeria.

Soulwinners Evangelistic Ministries

It is a ministry geared towards Evangelism, Deliverance, Humanitarian, Counseling and Training

All our donations in the US are processed by Soulwinners, which provide our donors with receipts for their contributions, in order to allow them claim their tax deduction as allowed by law.

Here in Nigeria, we are also in partnership with Soulwinners Churches to empower and equip young people and women with the skills they need to improve their livelihoods. Between February and April, 2009, our “Put a Smile Project Team” was on the streets and raised funds for the donation of 40 (one-quarter) bags of rice, 100 buckets of beans, salts, assorted clothings to 40 widows from Atta in Ikeduru, LGA at the 2009 Soulwinners Women Conference held in April, 2009…

Zenith Computer Technologies

It is an Information Technology and Computer Services Company established in 2006 to provide Nigerians with professional training
and computer aided solutions to their daily tasks in the workplace

In partnership with Zenith Computer Technologies, we have sponsored the training of over fifty youths in various ICT skills, including Desktop Publishing, Graphic Designs, Computer Engineering, Networking, etc. under our full and partial scholarship schemes since 2007.

Most of these youths are selected from churches benefiting from our youth empowerment and entrepreneurship development projects. Others are from rural communities in Imo State, especially those from the oil rich communities of Ohaji/Egbema and Oguta Local Government Areas of Imo State.

We also encourage other organizations to support us in this impact-making project, which has successfully empowered several youths.

With support from Actionaid International, Nigerian Office, we successfully organized week-long activities to mark the “2007 AIDS WEEK” in Owerri, Imo State, Nigeria in May, 2007.
