In recognition of our continued role in promoting enterprise development and self employment among Nigerian and African youths, ‘The Funding Space” coalition has entered into partnership with the African Youth Development Foundation.

This relationship has become imperative following the urgent need to harmonize and scale up the job creation activities of both organizations in the country.

AFRYDEF is well known for its Youth Cooperative and Enterprise Academy, which it established in 2016 to equip Nigerian youths with entrepreneurship skills as well as provide them access to the finance they need to turn their talents and ideas into profitable business ventures.

Also made popular by African Youth Development Foundation are the “Business in You Daily (now Weekly)” releases and the Business in You Talkshows it holds monthly from city to city across the country.

To seal this partnership, AFRYDEF will be participating at “The Funding Space”, an event convened by the Afrigrants Resources Ltd scheduled to hold between September 27 – 28, 2017 at the Landmark Center, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The event provides young entrepreneurs the platform to connect with and interact face-to-face with both local and international Angel and Impact Investors, Donor Organizations, Venture Capitalists and Financiers, etc who will support their startups, social enterprises and innovations.

According to the Co-Convener, Thelma Ekiyor, who is also the CEO of Afrigrants, “the main objective of The Funding Space is to inspire, challenge, support and share information on access to funding/finance with Nigerian actors to enhance the growth of locally grown innovations and enterprises that use business solutions to address social problems in the areas of health, education, energy, food security, and job creation”.

The Co-founder of African Women’s Development Fund, Erelu Bisi Adeleye Fayemi shall be the Event’s Chairperson while Ms. Leymah Gbowee, Nobel Peace Prize Winner shall be the Special Guest of Honour.

The founder of African Youth Development Foundation, Remy Chukwunyere is one of the Guest Speakers and shall be speaking on “Supporting Youth Entrepreneurship and Job Creation in Nigeria”.
