The African Youth Technology Development Foundation (AFRYDEF) is a registered non-profit organization dedicated to advancing the role of young people in Africa’s digital transformation.
We provide platforms, resources, and opportunities that empower youth to develop technological skills, create innovative solutions, and contribute meaningfully to sustainable socio-economic growth.

Our Strategic Objectives
Deliver structured training in digital literacy, STEM, and emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, and data science.
Establish incubation hubs and innovation labs that nurture youth-led startups and research projects.
Engage policymakers and stakeholders to promote inclusive digital policies and investment in youth development.
Strengthen STEM education in schools through scholarships, curriculum development, and extracurricular programs.
Provide mentorship, access to capital, and business development support for young entrepreneurs.
Collaborate with governments, development agencies, private sector actors, and academic institutions to scale initiatives across Africa.
Our Impact
Since inception in 1999, AFRYDEF has:
Trained over 1,000 young people in digital and entrepreneurial skills.
Supported the development of 1,000 youth-led startups and community-based innovations
Partnered with 20 local and international organizations to scale technology programs, including USAID/OTI; Committee for Advancement of Justice; WANEP; DFID MADE; PIND Foundation; Imo State Government of Nigeria, etc
